This Tivo would kill for its owner’s attention!

August 3, 2009

My sister and I got our mother a Tivo for her birthday, because every time she tries to watch one of her favorite shows, one of her friends is sure to call on the phone and talk and talk and talk. We told her a Tivo will change your life! This video apparently came out last Halloween, but if you haven’t seen it, it is hilarious. This Tivo wants no competition for his owner’s attention!

That was very funny. I never had tivo or a dvr like device before but my friends had them before and loved them. Greg Ellison

That was REALLY Funny!! Thankfully my TiVo rarely tries to kill the cats.

Haha, really great short film! I might have to dock my iPhone in the other end of the room tonight, just to be safe…

@Greg – Oh you have to get one! It’ll change your life! :) Seriously, I am so glad to not have to deal with VCR tapes anymore. The basic TiVo will now record two things at once for you, too.

@Robert – :D Yeah I’m going to be careful to announce that I love the TiVo more than the cats, the kids, or anyone else! Don’t want to make him have a frowny face

@Klaus – :) Definitely! Maybe keep it in a safe or something overnight. I’d hate to wake up and find that thing standing over me.

@Ching Ya – I was actually looking for a comical TiVo video to send to my mom, and it was so funny/bad that I had to post it. :)

@Asswass – Yes if that hadn’t been such an obvious fake cat in the closet I would have hated this video! :)

I actually haven’t time to watch the video right now, a good excuse to come back ;) What I would like to know though is whether or not your mom has any problems working the remote and stuff on the Tivo?

Not at all; she loves it! That first day, we let her “drive” while we walked her through what to do to set up season’s passes to her favorite shows, and she picked it up quickly.

Cool, she must be more technically minded than most then. I know quite a few people that still don’t know how to program a VCR, let alone a DVD player or Divo. I’m glad she likes it. It’s not often you can actually find a gift for your parents that they actually use.

I loved when Direct Tv had a Tivo DVR version, supposedly they are coming back out with a new version and I can’t wait.

Most people who have never used Tivo have no clue just how much it blows away any DVR box that any cable company makes.

The video was great!
